Friday 11th, Saturday 12th, Sunday 13th May 2018

The Multi-Activity centre at Llangorse, has been reserved for us as a base for the weekend. The centre caters for climbing, horse-riding, off-road cycling, and provides accommodation for several other activities, in an attractive spacious setting with traditional buildings. The weekend will follow a similar pattern to 2016, with two on-road rides, on Saturday and Sunday, possibly an off-road option, and fun stuff in between. The address of the centre is:

Llangorse Multi Activity Centre, The Gilfach, Llangorse, BRECON LD3 7UH Tel: 01874 658272 Website: www.activityuk.com email: action@activityuk.co.uk

There are two good quality bunkhouses at the centre and the smaller of the two has been reserved for us. It comprises 4x6 person rooms, together with ample self-catering facilities and shower rooms. Breakfast is also available in the Base Camp café, currently £6.50. There is also a campsite at the centre, and ample car park, but I would request that we try to minimise car numbers.

Off-site, there are two B&Bs in Llangorse village close by: www.redlionllangorse.co.uk Tel: 01874 658825 www.penybryn@activityuk.com 01874 658606

Friday 11th May - Plan to make your own arrangements to arrive at the centre during the afternoon. The journey time is likely to be about 3 hours. Evening meal will be provided at the centre, at 19:30.

Saturday 12th May - On-road cycling day ride followed by a group meal which I have reserved at the Red Lion for us all. Red Lion’s website: www.redlionllangorse.co.uk

Sunday 13th May - On-road cycling day ride. The bunkhouse must be vacated before we leave for the Sunday ride, stowing gear in cars. Showers are available post-ride in the climbing centre. There may be off-road rides organised also. Depart centre late afternoon.

There is scope to extend your tour, in stunning countryside. There are water based-activities and a campsite available at Llangorse lake www.llangorselake.co.uk, and rewarding hillwalking in the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains.

Reserving your place, booking, and payment timetable

All : let me know please, by 1st July 2017 by email, if it is highly likely that you will attend the weekend, and your likely choice of accommodation.

Bunkhousers: To book your place, your cheque, value £44.00 (2 nights), payable to CTC Exeter MUST be received by: Alan Harding, 60, Barley Farm Rd, EXETER, EX4 1NN, no later than 31st Aug. 2017. It is non-returnable. This is because the bunkhouse has to be booked by us with a payment of £220 to Llangorse by end of August 2017. 10 attendees translates as £22.00/head/night. If we get more than 10 it will reduce the per-head cost, and any credit balance can be carried forward for meal payments. If, however, you have to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, Alan will be able to return your payment if we have in excess of 10 residents
